About the team you are joining
Reporting
directly to the Regional Vice President, Africa and Middle East (RVP AME) and
in a matrix relationship (“dotted line”) to the Chief Financial Officer, (CFO),
the incumbent will be responsible for managing and assuring reliable accounts
and financial records of the IATA entities in region, performing all finance
functions, facilitating the business planning and management reporting of the
regional operations, ensuring the custody and protection of its assets,
providing for the efficient delivery of the corporate IT, procurement and
administration services that facilitate the conduct of IATA business the
region.
What your day would be like
Be a member of the regional leadership team, contributing to the development of the regional strategy;
In close cooperation
with the respective Head office functions, under direct supervision of the RVP
and through full alignment with established global IATA standards and
procedures:
Be responsible for the regional statutory accounting requirements, of the operational relation with the external and internal audit organizations, ensuring that all the accounting and consolidation procedures established in IATA are fully implemented and reporting timelines respected;
Be responsible for ensuring compliance with all CS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with IATA’s financial policies and procedures (FPPM) as well as local legislations
Oversee compliance with a comprehensive set of IATA’s internal and disclosure control processes; in particular to ensure compliance of the various ISS processes, especially on R&S policies and procedures. Produce weekly and monthly reporting for senior management that identifies ISS non-compliance, if any, and quantifies the risks.
Identify and recommend improvements that will enhance the quality and effectiveness of IATA’s internal processes.
Be responsible for facilitating the financial and resource planning processes in alignment with HQ directed calendars and assumptions
Work as an effective business partner of the RVP and the rest of the regional management team by producing timely financial and resource management reports, adequate operational business reporting, agreed KPIs and in developing and monitoring a wide variety of regional projects;
Effectively track FTE business allocation (joiners, leavers, transfers) during the year and produce variance reports to management
Ensure effective IT support to all users in the region; partner with ITS to drive the performance and the quality of the IT support in the region. Provide regular feedback to improve the portfolio of IT services.
Ensure full compliance with income tax, value-added tax and payroll tax regulations;
Manage the procurement activities for the region, identify cost savings opportunities, ensure a fair, transparent, and competitive vendor selection process to get best-value-for-money results as well as key vendor management in the region;
Manage the administration services in the region, including office lease contract management, office security, reception services, conference services and office maintenance.
Manage the payroll for all IATA employees in the region;
Lead, manage and coach individuals and teams of professionals, and develop capabilities through effective talent management, recruitment and succession planning.

University degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or in another relevant field,
An accounting professional certification,
10 years of experience in finance and accounting positions in international and multicultural environments, with at least 5 years in a similar senior finance management position,
Proven ability to lead and motivate teams and to foster collaboration across diverse functions and cultural lines,
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Experience of working in a “matrix” organization, with the ability to build & maintain effective relationships with teammates, customers and other stakeholders, including senior management;
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills and sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills,
an analytical mindset, exhibiting intellectual curiosity, comfortable working with numbers and driven to tangible outcomes,
Experience in automation tools would be an advantage,
Fluent in English, whilst knowledge of other regional languages would be an asset.
