Rolls-Royce has an exciting Security Guard opportunity at its site based in Thurso. Having operated and managed the Vulcan Naval Reactor Test Establishment for the last 50 years on behalf of the Ministry of Defence we are looking for a Security Officer to join our Security Team at the Vulcan site.

Working within a company-wide security team, as a Security Guard for Vulcan you will be making regular patrols of the site and will be required to carry out some physical activities to include opening security gates and doors.
Shift Work:
Once trained this role will be operating on a 3 shift system working both days and nights and backshifts across a 7 day cycle.

What you’ll be doing:
In this wide and varied undertake defined tasks within the security function and to adapt accordingly to requirement including personal, physical and documentary security.
Tasks will include:
- Site Patrols and Access Control to site
- Searching of people and vehicles
- Emergency response
- Security Control Room activities CCTV Operation
- Completion of relevant IT and Paperwork

An understanding of security processes and procedures within an agreed timeframe (Training will be provided)
- Experience using MS Office Suite
- Good Communications Skills

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
