Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Helper at our Auburn, CA/Vian Enterprises location. Job Summary: The Maintenance Helper is responsible for m iscellaneous activities including building and grounds maintenance and improvements, and constructing manufacturing workstations , shelving, and tooling. Essential Functions: Keep assigned area in clean and orderly condition. Maintain oil storage areas, coolant reclaiming system, solvent storage areas, and waste storage area. Report shortages of material, replenish supplies, and quantities of waste to supervision. Change oils, coolants, coolant filters, fluids of various substances, and lubricate a variety of equipment. Keep all factory areas clean, which includes the washing of machinery and equipment. Collect samples pertaining to EH&S request and or requirements. Maintain proper oil levels in equipment. Collect chips and turning from machines. Reclaim oil and chips in proper bins for disposal. Maintain proper coolant level and concentration for proper machining. Perform outdoor maintenance as required. Load and unload trucks pertaining to maintenance equipment and supplies plus any hazardous waste or products that have been used on company property. Assist maintenance as required. Perform Janitor tasks as required. Complete all required paperwork. Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities as required. Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor. Utilize computer to access various databases. Label drums at accumulation sites. Break down cardboard and pallets. Use of lift truck. Minimum Qualifications : Experience : Some experience u sing mechanical and electrical tools for general maintenance, constr uction, or related applications Knowledge : Knowledge of g eneral mechanical principles Skill s/Abilities : Ability to follow verbal and written directions, me chanical drawings, and diagrams; Ability to c omplete general maintenance ta sks with minimal supervision; Basic computer and math skills; Ability to work with other facilities and production personnel as a team on projects and to adapt to changing instructions or conditions; Good hand-eye coordination, ability to climb and work on 12ft ladders and work from heights up to 25ft on man lifts; Ability to operate a tractor with brush cutter Education/Certification : High school diploma or equivalent, or technical/trade school degree/ certificate Certified lift truck operator or open to getting certified after hire. General bu ilding construction experience General facilities or res idential maintenance experience Working Conditions : Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE.
