Are you passionate about combating climate change and driving sustainability initiatives? Qantas is seeking a dedicated Investment Manager to play a key role in enabling the delivery of the Qantas Climate Fund investment mandate, with a focus on nature-based solutions (NBS) and carbon removal technologies.
As the Investment Manager (NBS), you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and driving the pipeline of potential NBS investment opportunities globally. Reporting to the Head of Carbon Markets, you will lead the evaluation process, engage with external advisors, and contribute to the ongoing refinement of the Climate Fund investment strategy to ensure alignment with the Group’s Climate Action Plan.
In addition to your investment responsibilities, you will support the broader development and execution of the Group’s climate and sustainability strategies, particularly in areas related to offsets, technology, and investment. 7+ years of relevant NBS experience, which may include carbon removal project research and development, policy development and/or commercialisation of offsets related projects.
7+ years investments experience, developed in either corporate venture capital, venture capital, corporate finance, private equity, funds management, renewable energy developer or utility and/or infrastructure advisory
A relevant Bachelor’s qualification in finance, economics, engineering or a related field, with postgraduate studies not essential but highly regarded (i.e. MBA, CA, CFAor CFA).
Deep understanding of NBS/offsets industry, including regulatory landscape and technological advancements.
Proven track record in managing multiple projects, priorities, and external relationships.
Ability to consult with internal and external stakeholders effectively, influencing business decisions positively.
Strong financial analysis skills with expertise in investment evaluation and valuation.
Demonstrated personal accountability, integrity, and enthusiasm.
Analytical mindset with a knack for constructive challenge.
Capacity to handle stress and balance tactical implementation with strategic vision.
Skilled in fostering a positive team culture aligned with corporate sustainability values.
Excellent interpersonal skills for relationship management and mentoring
