YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Ground Safety Specialist is responsible for risk management and assurance processes involving the area of ground safety (including dangerous goods). The role actively supports the safe conduct of DHL Air Austria operations within the scope of ground and cargo operations

Represent the company on Ground Safety related matters as agreed with the Senior Director Safety Management
-
Maintains and develop procedures and processes relating to ground safety related investigations and risk management, that are compliant to regulations and are according to DHA standards, ensuring they remain updated
-
Supervises and controls ground safety related risk management processes
-
Supports documentation and implementation of relevant ISARPS for IOSA certification
-
Defines processes and procedures required for risk management and assurance related to ground safety topics
YOUR TASKS:
-
Coordinates, investigates and manages ground safety investigations and occurrence reports including the assessment of safety risk, identification of root cause(s), suggesting appropriate corrective and preventative actions and recommendations
-
Prepares, coordinates and facilitates the Ground Safety Action Group and contributes to the Safety Review Board when required
-
Working closely with the Ground Operations department to maintain and develop the Ground Operations hazard register
-
Performs and supports risk assessment of occurrence reports as well as contributing to Safety Risk Evaluations involving ground safety topics

Working closely with the Ground Operations team to prepare and support the creation and maintenance of ground safety risk assessments / evaluations / MOC

Administration and control of all ground safety related reports

The ongoing monitoring and analysis of ground safety related SPIs
-
The monitoring and development of ground safety related statistics, identifying safety related trends, following up adverse trends with responsible parties, as well as identifying appropriate mitigations and subsequently monitoring their effectiveness

Liaising with external bodies and stakeholders such as Austro Control, group airlines and entities
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

procedures and organizational requirements, quality assurance and safety implications

Dangerous goods training certificate, preferably CAT10 or similar competency based DG training
-
Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
-
Significant experience with risk management and assurance processes in the area of aviation
-
Familiarity with management systems, preferably in the area of aviation
-
Sound knowledge of statistical principles.

5 years of relevant work experience of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position

English language proficiency
-
Strong working knowledge of MS Office
-
Strong interpersonal skills, able to build effective working relationships
-
Social and communication competencies
-
Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
- Permission to work within EU
Knowledge of:
-
the applicable EU safety regulations and any associated requirements and procedures;

the AOC holder's operations specifications; and
-
the need for, and content of, the relevant parts of the AOC holder's operations manual;
