Position Summary
The Electronic Design Engineer is responsible for developing technically sound and marketable products using imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions.
Specific Accountabilities
- Demonstrates domain knowledge with high level understanding of design processes and procedures with ability to train others
- Applies knowledge and experience to develop/enhance designs, processes, and tools
- Creates strong network with other senior professionals internally and externally
- Works under general direction and within established processes / procedures, as well as driving improvements to these processes
- Has latitude in technical decisions and approaches, but seeks out specialist guidance for complex issues
- Advanced oral and communication skills
- Internal/external presentations should show more polish
- Communication indicates of knowledge of subject matter, particularly in customer/supplier interaction
- Prepares clear, technically accurate and documented design explanation
- Presentations to customers are still reviewed by others
- Communicates in a positive, calm, and professional manner
- Understands commercially sensitive information, including how, when, and with whom to share it
- Acting as a lead, provides significant expertise in designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and improving complex components, control systems, and products. Directly impacts all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and a minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Experience in Hardware development in accordance with Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA)/DO-254
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to motivate others.
- Experience and proficient at working across functions within the organization.
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural / diverse organization - preferred
- Willing to challenge the status quo – preferred
Skills
- Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of electronics.
- Experience working in an electronics lab environment and troubleshooting hardware problems.
