Position Overview:
The Technical Services Engineer team at Flair plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the airline's fleet. This integrated team includes specialists in reliability, structures, airframe systems, electronic systems, powerplant systems, and maintenance programs. Responsibilities range from expediting aircraft return to service, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining structural health to overseeing program compliance and developing maintenance procedures. The Technical Services Engineer – Reliability is tasked with providing technical support for Flair's fleet to expedite aircraft return to service and enhance the fleet's reliability and safety through continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, this role includes supporting the daily activities of the Technical Services Manager and assuming the Technical Services Manager's responsibilities during their absence.
Primary Job Functions:
The duties of the Technical Services Engineer – Reliability include:
- Provide technical support for modifications to the reliability program
- Compile and issue monthly Reliability Statistics Report for Flair fleet
- Review Journey Logs and Delays/Cancellations on a regular basis
- Investigate repetitive aircraft defects and provide recommendations
- Review Unscheduled Component Removals and conduct investigations for possible improvements
- Evaluate Component / System Performance using Service Failure and Maintenance data
- Consult with other Engineering Trades in investigating components/systems and provide recommendations to improve reliability.
- Lead the monthly Fleet Performance & Dispatch Reliability meetings
- Communicate with vendors and Field Service Representatives on a regular basis and acquire updates on reliability issues and upgrades/improvement to products
- Manage Data Collection, Analysis, Reporting, and Follow-up functions of the Reliability Program
- Analyze Finding Reports for the development of a robust Reliability Program
- Participate in maintenance status and planning meetings
- Support implementation. testing and continuous improvement of in-house engineering projects.
- Actively participate in Flair’s SMS program
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:

- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical)
- Hold a valid Transport Canada AME M, E, or S license
- Experience:
- Minimum of six (6) years of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer experience is preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of Boeing aircraft experience preferred
- Boeing 737 NG and/or MAX endorsement considered an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations (CARs)
- Knowledgeable on computer-based maintenance software, AMOS is considered an asset
- Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and data entry
- Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-stress, deadline-driven, ever-changing work environment while prioritizing tasks and assignments
- High degree of interpersonal and communication proficiency, including written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with multiple cross-departmental stakeholders
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage projects to successful completion on tight timeframes
- Proven planning and organizational skills as well as attention to detail

- Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction
