Job Description:

The Senior Manager Network Training & Standards invests in the future of Southwest’s People by providing leadership and development of Network Operations Training for Dispatch, SODS, CONS and Network Directors. In addition, this role ensures trainingprograms meet Federal Aviation Administration(FAA) requirements and Southwest Airlines standards. The Senior Manager Network Training & Standards is a People Leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills who looks forward to supporting impactful initiatives that drive the future of Southwest.

Due to the nature of this role, you would be required to work from our Dallas, TX Headquarters facility during business hours.

Responsibilities
Prepare and obtain approval for the Network Operations training program including basic, initial, and recurrent
Instruct and/or monitor all instruction for Network Operations training sessions including competency and proficiency checks when applicable
Develop training programs and methods for enhancement of Network Operations Training
Maintain records and information as required
Development of standards and procedures for Network Operations
Oversee and support the Network Training and Standards Team
Provide standardization guidance in the daily operation of the Network Operations
Respond to/create correspondence as necessary
Create and deliver presentations
Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on the is description
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
Knowledge of current and emergent PC software packages
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
Knowledge of Southwest Airlines Network Operations
Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
Highly skilled in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things
Skilled in assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
Ability to produce several ideas about a topic
Strong ability to cast a clear vision and gain buy in for support
Ability to work well with others as part of a team; professionally interact with other departments, labor groups, and the public
Strong ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions
Ability to produce unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem
Experience
Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
Preferred: People leadership experience
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be available to work varying and extended hours as needed
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $137,250 per year to $152,500 per
year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual
contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
