Job Description Summary Statement:Employee performs skilled work in cleaning, preparing, and sanding various aircraft interior components such as sidewall panels, bins, ceilings, lavatories, galleys, tabletops, etc.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Cleans, sands, and scrapes surfaces in preparation for spraying.
- Responsible for masking areas needing protection from spray and removing on completion of job.
- Mixes materials according to the manufacturer’s technical data sheet for proper application.
- Repairs composites and metal surfaces.
- Must be able to feather out Bondo to a smooth finish.
- Experience in wet sanding and buffing.
- Responsible for cleaning panels using an adhesive remover.
- Cooperates & assist other personnel in the repair and prepping of parts.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related field.
- Auto body prepping/bodywork experience preferred.
- Drug-free workplace. AAI is an FAA Repair Station with Mandatory Drug Testing.
- Able to perform simple fiberglass repairs.
- Ability to read and follow instructions on repair process plans.
- Ability to lift items up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Valid driver’s license
- Compensation: Negotiable depending on experience.
- Full-time position, 40+ hours per week.
