About the team you are joining
The Data Scientist
will be responsible for designing and implementing cross-divisional data
science solutions to use cases that span across multiple business areas. The
ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of statistical modelling,
machine learning, and data analysis techniques. He/she will work closely with
stakeholders across IATA to identify opportunities for using data to drive
business value and will be responsible for developing data science projects
from conception to delivery.
What your day would be like
Reporting to the Senior Data Scientist, you
will be an integral part of the Data Science team, collaborating with the Data
Architect and Data engineering team to create machine learning models and
algorithms to address complex business challenges.
Contribute to the IATA data-oriented future by leveraging
your knowledge, experience and skills to put data at the centre and transform
how we approach decision-making, project work and value-creation.
Collect, prepare and transform data, and recommend improvements
to the data environment and data collection process including data submission
formats and standards.
Develop and implement statistical modelling and
machine learning solutions that integrate with existing systems and processes.
Visualize and interpret analytical results for business and
translate analytics into business language, present complex information to
internal and external stakeholders.
Participate as a member on the Artificial Intelligence Technical
Board, Gen AI Working Groups and other key internal data science communities.
We would love to hear from you if
Preferably a master’s degree in mathematics,
engineering, physics or related discipline – a post graduate degree can be
acceptable with more extensive practical experience.
Proficient quantitative, statistical, and
programming skills – including experience in data science and analysis a as
well as experience in machine learning in the form of developing analytical and
predictive models.
5 years experience in Data Science or equivalent
work experience in advanced ML, time series or deep learning algorithms for
regression, classification, forecasting or clustering problems.
Experience with natural language processing
techniques and Generative AI.
Experience with cloud-based machine learning
services such as AWS SageMaker and Snowflake.
Solid understanding of deep learning techniques
and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Experience with agile development methodologies,
data or ML engineering is an advantage
