About the team you are joining
IATA’s Business Intelligence Services (BIS) serves as the focal point and driving force for aviation data management and BI services in the aviation industry. One of the four verticals within the IATA BIS department is Aircraft, Environment and Operations Data (AEOD) Line of Business.
This LOB manages a portfolio of aviation BI solutions and data sharing programs leveraging IATA’s unique access to airline data such as Turbulence Aware and MET Program, CO2 CONNECT, MRO SmartHub as well as strategic projects such as Airline Schedule Data Exchange Program. This unit also hosts the BIS Data Science capability serving aviation data analytical needs. The team is comprised of aviation industry experts, data management and analytic professionals as well as data scientists based in Montreal and Geneva.
The Intern, Aviation Data Analytics position reports to the Head, Aircraft, Environment and Operations Data. This position also works closely with the Senior Manager, Data management and technology and supports all existing and new products with AEOD portfolio.Text
What your day would be like
The intern will focus on developing analytic Proof Of Concepts (POCs) covering environment, emissions, operations, and aircraft data. These data points support various IATA products and solutions.
Specifically, the responsibilities include:
1. Develop and maintain Program Data Contribution Analytics
- Ensuring accurate and timely updates on data contributions from various programs.
- Providing detailed insights into the contribution levels of each program.
- Create external version POC
2.Enhance Product Usage Analysis:
- Conducting trial analytics to understand user engagement during trial periods.
- Analyzing overall product usage and identifying trends, usage patterns, and client segments to improve product positioning and market focus.
3.Jointly develop client-Facing Analytics with the PMs
- Cross database correlation and optimization POC to derive potential ideas and validate quickly with the market
- Creating and maintaining trending analyses of the data, highlighting key market performance indicators using program and other commercial datasets.
- Providing historical analytics to offer insights into the evolution of the data collected with proper segmentation to derive actionable insights.
- Conducting benchmarking analyses to compare client performance vs. market to build correlation between our product adoption and their financial performance and market share.
- Developing Proof of Concept (POC) analytics to quickly respond to identified market needs.
We would love to hear from you if
- Bachelor degree in Management Information Systems, data analytics or Aviation business related degrees with data management certification is an asset.
- Strong proficiency in business intelligence software such as Power BI including development of dashboards, data pipeline and automation.
- Proven analytical skills dealing with large dataset and ability to write technical reports
- Good problem solving, analytical skills, report writing skills and the ability to work with large team
- Excellent communication skills in English both oral and written; knowledge of an additional language is an asset
- Team player and strong sense of ownership.
