SR. POWER SYSTEMS ENGINEER
As a member of the Power Systems Team, you will work with engineers across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate power systems that will enable SpaceX to achieve its long-term mission. This team is responsible for the delivery of projects to various internal customer groups across the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the project team, consulting engineers and contractors throughout the entirety of the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process for power specific scope items
- Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial type projects
- Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
- Coordinate with electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure
- Interact with engineers, contractors, vendors, fabricators, and project stakeholders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience with the design or build of commercial or industrial power systems
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Primary experience with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac)
- Working knowledge of delta/wye transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, building lighting, building construction specifications, and facility grounding
- Experience with critical power infrastructure including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches
- Experience creating and implementing process/design solutions with minimal impact to business operations
- Able to quickly assess an issue and assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment, under possible extended work hours and tight deadlines
- Acute attention to detail, ability to see interactions with other systems to avoid problems
- AutoCAD/Revit – beginner to intermediate skill level
- Familiarity with National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Association, and International Building Code
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters or at heights
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Remain focused while working in hazardous environments, while wearing appropriate PPE
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
- Travel up to 25%

Pay range:
Power Systems Engineer/Senior: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
