Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What You Will Be Doing:
You will be a key member of the Probabilistic Safety Assessment team (PSA), responsible for the numerical analysis of the risk associated with operating the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet, and production of associated safety case documentation.
- Numerical Analysis and Risk Assessments
- Undertake Risk Studies using Event Tree and Fault Tree Analysis
- Produce Safety Case Documentation
The PSA team undertakes risk studies utilising Event Tree and Fault Tree analysis techniques which, generally require a degree of collaboration with other departments within RR Submarines. Tasks range from prompt responses to emergent requests from the customer to long-term planned safety campaigns.

- Nuclear Safety Case experience
- Degree in Engineering, Maths, Physics or equivalent.
- A demonstrable ability to work in multidisciplinary teams to tight deadlines.
- Experience or knowledge of using PSA related software, such as Reliability Workbench would be beneficial (Training will be provided)

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
