The role
As a Head of Operations, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will lead across multiple sites to drive a positive Safety and Quality Culture, modernise the business, and make DSG a great place to work.
Day-to-day, you will play a crucial role in enhancing operations efficiently, drive productivity improvements, and developing high-calibre leaders across the organization. Spearheading initiatives for HSE considerations, encompassing safety culture, improvement plans, and quality, is integral to ensuring a safe, sustainable, and high-performance operational environment.
- Provide strong visible cohesive leadership, governance, and oversight across all Operational Teams (multiple UK Sites, c800 personnel).
- Create and sustain a culture that is aligned to the Babcock Principles by role-modelling behaviours, motivating, encouraging, and recognising the contribution of Team Members.
- Ensure a positive and just Health and Safety culture is embedded and sustained within DSG.
- Spearhead initiatives to identify and nurture leadership potential at all levels of the organization, fostering a culture of continuous growth and professional development.
- Develop and implement operational strategies with a strong emphasis on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, while concurrently driving productivity improvements to achieve business goals.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at Andover.
Essential experience of the Head of Operations:
- Experience developing & implementing a strong safety culture and comprehensive safety practices.
- Experience leading large teams in an operational environment; and developing high performing leaders.
- Experience leading transformation initiatives aligned to modern MRO Practices (Factory 4.0)
- Proven track record in driving Productivity improvements.
- A deep understanding of the MRO business model and processes.
- Strong customer relationship management within multi-stakeholder environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
