The role
As an IWE Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Providing technical engineering support and direction under the waterline when platforms are afloat. Supporting the development of new In Water Maintenance and Repair (IWMAR) techniques through innovation initiatives targeted at Design Authority Requirements categorised as “Docking Dependant”.
Day to day, you’ll engage with stakeholders, conducting meetings to resolve lifecycle process issues, offering technical support and solutions to assist with the smooth running of projects.
- Responsible for the technical engineering support and direction to IWE work packages
- Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with cost, time and quality requirements
- Ensure correct Quality Documentation is reviewed and called for at commencement and throughout each project activity
- Management of subcontractors when required to complete areas of the work package
- Responsible for Fleet Operations adherence to Babcock Clyde Diving Safety Management Systems
- Actively lead IWE capability development and innovation initiatives. Integrate new IWMAR capabilities and establish as normal practice.
This role is full time at 37 hours a week with a hybrid working arrangement and will be based at Faslane, Clyde.
Essential experience of the IWE Engineer:
- Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or Diving experience
- Knowledge of Project Management and comfortability to lead solutions
- Awareness of Health and Safety
Qualifications for the IWE Engineer:
- HNC in Engineering, apprenticeship in Engineering or equivalent experience
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
