Data Science Intern - Air Systems
Job Description
Maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for passengers in the aircraft cabin is a fundamental aspect of aviation that includes both ventilation and air quality aspects and is one of the main functions of Air Systems.
Air Systems incorporates the electro-mechanical systems i.e. Air Systems (ATA 21) and Bleed System (ATA36), which is divided into several subsystems.
Role:
The Intern will act as a Data Analyst / Machine Learning Engineer focusing on Air System related applications
with the task to provide safe and balanced data driven design solutions. They will play a key role in developing machine learning and deep learning (classification, regression, time-series and natural language processing) models and/or analytics dashboards to analyze aircraft air-systems operational reliability and build predictive and prescriptive models that assist in modelling, simulation & inflight decision-making.
Needs to engage in tasks related to data engineering, knowledge graph creation, chatbot building, tuning and monitoring.
Technical Key Skills
❖ Machine learning, Deep learning code development and deployment
❖ Dashboarding in environments like Dash, Power BI, Spotfire etc.
❖ Experience in Classification/Regression, Natural Language Processing, Time series Analysis, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning
❖ Data driven decision science
Good to have (not mandatory)
❖ Basic understanding of System Engineering and Aerospace/ Aviation
❖ Basic Knowledge of Generative Artificial Intelligence and state-of-the-art modeling techniques
❖ Basic Knowledge on Large Language Model development, deployment and monitoring
❖ Exposure to Software development, testing, verification and integration
Preferred Language: Python
Data Science Frameworks: Scikit-Learn, Keras, Tensorflow, Pytorch, Langchain etc.
Environments: Jupyter Notebook / Anaconda, Visual Studio etc.

Qualification: Pursuing (final year) or completed Masters or Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Thermal or Data Science related streams.
