JOB SUMMARY:
The Social Media Strategist is responsible for leading the company's overall social media strategy, execution, and community engagement to grow our reach, increase awareness of Textron Aviation products and services, and position our company as the industry leader.
The successful candidate will focus on curating, sourcing and scheduling social media content for Textron Aviation's platforms and channels; listening to and engaging with our audience on social media; and measuring and reporting on social media analytics and performance.
The Social Media Strategist should have command of best practices and trends in social media, enjoy being creative, and understand how to both build and engage a digital audience. This person should be an exceptional storyteller who can lead a group of content contributors and also work independently to identify, recommend and develop strategic social media content, collaboration and amplification opportunities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Expand and execute Textron Aviation's social media and employee advocacy strategies to grow and engage our many audiences.
- Build and manage the company's social media profiles and presence across a wide range of platforms and channels.
- Lead a variety of content contributors to create and execute a strategic social media editorial calendar.
- Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks that shape the company's corporate narrative across the full spectrum of audiences.
V. Listen to and engage in relevant social discussions about our company, competitors, and/or industry. Recommend new topics and content themes to tell the company story globally via owned channels. Target content to specific audiences and look for content that is in demand.
- Stay updated with the latest social media changes and explore new ways to reach and engage our audiences.
- Manage Communications vendors as needed to support the social media strategy and ensure projects meet milestones, budgetary constraints and company standards.
- Coordinate with the company’s creative agencies to ensure strategy, messaging and organic editorial calendar alignment to company initiatives.
- Identify and recommend paid opportunities to amplify our reach on company news or corporate storytelling content.
- Analyze and report on social media performance to improve the company's strategy and overall effectiveness.
- Monitor our competitor's social media efforts and customer forums.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of media relations, marketing, strategic communications, or relative experience is required.
QUALIFICATONS:
- Display knowledge of social media best practices, including how to tailor content for a variety of audiences or platforms
- Display sound judgment and knowledge of the company to protect and manage the company's reputation and image
- Experience in curating, creating and editing content, as well as navigating approval processes
- Experience in creating and executing content calendars
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive tactical execution
- Ability to navigate through a complex and matrixed environment
- Willingness to be agile and flexible in a fast-paced social media role
