Introduction

The Production Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Production Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate with the Customer and appropriate Company departments all scheduling of maintenance; ensure that all work performed is accomplished within the authority of the Repair Station and is properly supervised and inspected in accordance with the policies and procedures defined in the EAS Repair Station Manual; control unnecessary costs without compromising safety and dispatch reliability; ensure facilities are kept clean, organized and in compliance with safety requirements.
Ensure compliance of the department to the standards of housing and facility, personnel, equipment and materials and performance required by the FAA; establish standards and procedures to ensure safety precautions are observed and to ensure that safety equipment is in proper operating condition; ensure all personnel are trained in appropriate safety practices and procedures, including the proper use and location of the fire fighting equipment.
Ensure availability of adequate parts, materials and consumable items for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance; establish and maintain procedures to identify, control, segregate and maintain all stock and tools to a serviceable or unserviceable condition; ensure proper handling of parts while in the repair process and when work is complete; maintain shelf life program and perform as backup for the Stores Manager.
Oversee and manage all paperwork required for the work being performed is properly executed in a timely manner by the person/position(s) responsible for the work; approve purchase requests in accordance with established Company policy.
Prepare statistical reports in support of production management and continuous improvement; provide customer required reports as required for proper invoicing of labor hours and material usage; assist in the review of labor hours and material usage as it applies to the proper invoicing of work accomplished by the Repair Station.
Serve as liaison between Production and Quality to ensure accurate and timely communication relating to the airworthiness and safety of the articles in work; serve as liaison between Production and Customer representatives to ensure smooth work flow and clear communication with the Customer;
Train, supervise and evaluate staff; assure adequate staffing levels and that staff follow regulations; provide input into the Repair Station budget and monitor expenditures of the same; serve as a positive, constructive, communicative leader for the organization and its customers and policies for the industry and its participants.
Serve as a positive role model for ethical behavior and promote an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles that is consistent with these principles; provide guidance, direction, management and support in a secure and dignified work environment; promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines.
Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

High school or equivalent, related college degree preferred, with three years of practical experience in the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools, machine tools and other equipment generally used in the work for which the Repair Station is rated.
Must have two years supervisory experience and be appropriately certificated under FAR Part 65.
Must have working knowledge of the FARs, ADs, methods, techniques and practices contained in the applicable manufacturer’s maintenance and alteration documents and/or date acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
Must have exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, be computer literate and posses a driver’s license and insurable record through Empire’s policy.
Must adhere to the Company’s FAA/DOT required Drug and Alcohol Program.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily indoors and requires travel.
May be exposed to inclement weather and various noise levels associated with aircraft maintenance facilities.
May be exposed to physical hazards and may be required to carry, lift, pull or push parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing and hearing to conduct business.

Pay & Benefits

Starting pay for this position is $77,000 - $93,000 annually, depending on experience.
This full-time position includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Travel, and other benefits.
